Geocache Description:

The cache is accessible from the Farmers Loop bike path year-round along a lightly used portion of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Trail system.  Don your biking shorts and cleats or running shoes and bug dope in the summer or skis, snow shoes, or hiking boots in the winter and explore a peaceful spruce forest interspersed with birch and aspen.

This is a music CD exchange cache with a few other trade items.  Original contents of the ammo box are two dozen CDs with content ranging from "The Lion King" to "All Star Jazz" to "Jagged Little Pill" to classical selections.  Bring your old original CDs and legally recorded music to exchange.  There are also First- and Second-To-Find Items in the cache and a camera to capture cachers' images (please take your photo, return the camera to the cache, and report your photo number(s) in the cache log).  Mommy Ladybug's Ladybug Travel Bug is also starting her journey to Warwick, New York, from this cache.

Trail maps are posted at several trail heads and other locations or click to download a map.  Please abide by the winter use designations on the map.  Your dog is welcome during the winter months if you keep it on a leash and use the "dog-friendly trails."  Dogs are not welcome on the groomed ski trails during the winter months and the Fairbanks North Star Borough leash law is in effect year-round.  Motorized vehicles are never permissible.

Cache and dashers, nonskiers and dogs should park at N64° 52.190, W147° 49.487.  Skiers may also park at the trailhead parking lot northwest of the International Arctic Research Building on UAF's West Ridge near the ski hut.  Click for a campus map.  Be sure to park only in designated public spots because the campus police aggressively ticket parking offenders.

Be sure to record the bonus cache code word found on the log book cover.  You will need the code word to find an upcoming bike path loop bonus mystery cache.
