Kansas City Poker Run 2011 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

StealthRT: While several folks who signed in for the event have still not posted attended logs, it is still time to archive this one.

If you signed the log, of course, please log it here when you get a chance.

We are still waiting for the buzzkill2 cache to get the go ahead for publication. I’m sure it should be any day now.

Geocache Description:

A Syndicate "sponsored" event by StealthRT

The Syndicate has “requested” a poker run.

The Syndicate gets what the Syndicate wants. So…

Event Date: Saturday, June 18, 2011
Event Time: 8:30 AM
Event Type: Poker Run
Entrance Fee: None

This will be a poker run on a limited scale. What this means for
you is that you can have some poker run fun, without losing the
whole day.

Poker run fun includes:
Discovering areas you haven’t seen before.
Being taken to zones with caches to find.
Potentially finding some newly released caches.
Prizes for top winners, including at least three geocoins.

Poker run participants will be issued a set of starting coordinates
to begin their poker run fun. They will also receive a poker run
game card to track their progress. Participants will travel to
multiple locations where they will locate a cache container and
complete an assignment on their game card as evidence of their
visit. If a log is in the container, the participant should sign
the log in addition to completing the assignment.

Each assignment completed will afford the participant some benefit
in building their poker hand or hands. Not all assignments are
required to be completed for the participant to be dealt and post a
poker hand eligible for prizes. However, participants who complete
more assignments will have a substantial benefit over participants
who complete fewer assignments. Example of benefits may include
additional cards, extra draw cards, wild cards, and extra
hands.

Participants will be expected to turn in their game cards by 11:30,
though they may do so as soon as they like. Once a participant
turns in their game card, the participant will be dealt a poker
hand to play. As soon as all hands are dealt and tracked, prizes
will be awarded to the holders of the top posted hands.

The Syndicate will be assigning or supplying an event host and
dealer(s). The dealer and host will be happy to advise players on
the rules of the game and their options. Participants will NOT need
to be poker experts to participate, have fun, or win.

The decisions and judgments of the Syndicate designee will of
course be final. They are a Syndicate designee after all.

This is not a race event. You do not have to start your poker run
at any particular time. You do need to return with your game card
by 11:30.

Be sure to post on the event listing, or add the listing to your
watch list, so as to not miss forthcoming announcements.

Courtesy will-attend posts are appreciated to help determine the
appropriate number of game cards to print. A will-attend note is
obviously NOT required to attend and participate. All are welcome
to come and have some poker run fun.

And don’t forget to come early and get some great
“caching fuel” at Breakfast in the Park.
