Geocache Description:

Great, another puzzle cache. This one's a little different. We thought we'd try an odd concept to test your visual recognition skills just for kicks. Here's how it works: Look at the photos. Print out the PDF. Go drive around a little. Write down some numbers. Do the math. Find the cache. Easy, right? Well, let's find out.

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES!!!

HOWEVER, the posted coordinates WILL get you close to the starting point.

The actual coordinates are:
N 34°XX.YYY
W 118°03.ZZZ

Now you need to figure the coordinates out. Before you do anything, however, you'll want to print out the reference document.

----------------------------------------------------

Okay, let's go hunting! Note that ALL THREE of the points described below are within a couple blocks of each other. You don't need to go very far at all to find them.

First, go stand so that you can see the scene pictured in Photo 1. The closest "1C" will be off to your right. Find it and write down the address number (not the street, just the number).

Next, go stand so that you can see the scene pictured in Photo 2. The nearest "2AR" is just ahead and to the left of the photo. Find it and write down the address number.

Finally, go stand so that you can see the scene pictured in Photo 3. The nearest "3A" will be just behind you as you face the view in the photo. When you locate it, write down the address number.

----------------------------------------------------

All right, now let's do some math!

To get XX, take the last two digits for 1C and add 10 (i.e., if the number is 12345, the equation is 45 + 10).

To get YYY, multiply the FIRST two digits for 2AR by the LAST two digits of this number, and then add 92 to the total (i.e., if the number is 12345, the equation is 12 x 45 + 92).

To get ZZZ, add the FIRST two digits for 3A to the LAST two digits of this number, multiply that total by six, and subtract 29 (i.e., if the number is 12345, the equation is [12 + 45] x 6 - 29).

----------------------------------------------------

Now that you've done your homework, you're on your way! Note that you'll have to drive a couple of miles to find the cache. Since a couple people have reported some difficulty calculating the final coordinates...The final cache location is less than 100 feet from a paved road. If your GPSr points you someplace else, chances are you'll want to double-check your math. You will be looking for an ammo can containing the usual geo-swag. Once you've made it this far, it should be smooth sailing...

Good luck, and Happy Caching!
