Koiviston kylä on näytellyt tärkeää osaa Keski-Suomen
kehittymisessä aina 1770-luvulta lähtien, jolloin Kuopion lääni
perustettiin ja kuningas antoi käskykirjeen tien rakentamisesta
Kuopiosta Vaasaan. Risteys vanhan pohjoiseen kulkevan väylän kanssa
osui Koiviston kylään ja siitä syntyikin merkittävä hallintokeskus
Keski-Suomeen lähes sadan vuoden ajaksi. Muhlunniemessä oli
sisämaan ainoa postikonttori, Vanhan Koiviston talossa oli
kestikievari ja sen vieressä kruununvoudin makasiini. Talossa asui
myös piirilääkäri, ja siinä toimi apteekki. Tarinan mukaan
Koiviston kylällä toimi ensimmäinen sisämaan sairaala Suomessa.
1820-luvulla Hirvaskangas oli Keski-Suomen tärkein
markkinapaikka jossa niin turkikset kuin aseet ja suolakin
vaihtuivat tarvitsijalta toiselle. Koivisto oli 1834 perustetun
Laukaan kihlakunnan hallintokeskus. Poikittaistiellä Pohjanmaalta
Savoon on ollut lukuisia eri nimiä, Pietari Brahentie, Ruotintie,
Kruununtie, Savontie, Vanha posti-, rahti-, kievari- ja sotatie. Se
oli Pohjois-Savon ensimmäinen mittatie joka oli varustettu puisilla
virstantolpilla.
Lyhyt pätkä tätä tärkeää tietä on säilytetty museotienä
Koiviston kylän kohdalla, sinne kyläyhdistys on myös pystyttänyt
tauluja ja opasteita kiinnostuneiden luettaviksi. Tämän tien
varresta voit löytää nyt myös tuoreen kätkön, ja kuten varmaan
ymmärrät, sieltä voi onnekas aarteenetsijä löytää myös satoja
vuosia säilyneen kätkön.
Koivisto village has been very important for the development of
Mid-Finland area since 1770, when the province of Kuopio was
founded and the King of Sweden gave an edict to construct a road
from Kuopio to Vaasa. Koivistonkylä grew up in the crossing with
the old road to north and it became a noteworhy administration
center for Mid-Finland for almost a century. The only Postoffice in
the interior of country was in Muhlunniemi, the old Koivisto house
was giving inn services to trwellers and beside it were the
storehouses of the bailiff. District physician was living there
also, and a pharmacy was in operation. An old rumour tells that the
first hospital in the interrior of the country was on operation
here. In 1820's Hirvaskangas was an important market place where
furs, guns as well as salt were traded. Koivisto was the center of
Laukaa jurisdictional district founded 1834. The west to east road
have had several names like Old postroad, Cargoroad, Innroad and
warroad ( additionaly several names in different finnish dialects).
It was the firts road on this area which was measured and equipped
with kilometer poles.
A short piece of this road has been preserved and the village
association has put up information boards and posts for the
interested people to read. Along this road you can now find a
treasure, and like you understand, it is possible to find a real
old treasure also if you are lucky.
The box is a 45 x 120 x 130 wooden box. Pls report if it seems
to get wet or break up !! Cache can be found in winter also.
