Geocache Description:

Come and campout at Warren Island State Park!

There will be events for young and old including story-telling, cardboard boat building and race (kids with adult assistance allowed), "Leave No Trace" demonstration, scavenger hunt, and more! There's hiking trails and beautiful sailing/boating/kayaking areas. The campfire area is a wonderful gathering spot for tales and laughter. Supper on Saturday night will be a POTLUCK event. Let's see how creative you can be!

Camping is $3.00 per person and a group site has been reserved for the event. There are water and privies on the island and a couple of caches to claim! For more information on the park go to: (visit link)

The terrain level for this event is a five because you will need to travel by boat to get there. How can you do this? There are several options.
1. Kayak from Lincolnville Beach where the parking is free. Meet at 9:00 am and you must RSVP! This is for experienced kayakers.
2. Take the ferry across to Islesboro and kayak over to Warren Island from there. Your kayak must be on a car in order to cross and parking on the island should be checked out. For more information on the ferry service go to (visit link)
3. You could sail or take your motor boat!
4. A shuttle can be arranged for the non-boating crowd. Please RSVP if you wish to be shuttled.

So, come join in on the fun!
