Do you have what it takes to find this cache?
Your best bet is to start at the Riverside Park in Evans, Colorado.
The town of Evans is named for the second Governor of the Colorado Territory, John Evans (1862-1865). Link
This cache will take you down by the Platte River. With that said, bring on the bug spray and don't be bashful about it. Decide for yourself if you are willing to take the plunge to find the cache.

I planted the cache wearing shorts and hiking sandals. This seemed to work well enough for me.
Let me know what you think.

WOW!!! One of the top cache adventures EVER!!! Zoltig TeamLaxon and I picked up EMC of NorthRidge from her hotel. She was in to perform at The Greeley Jazz Festival. We had a great breakfast and then started caching. I think We got 13 for the day....THIS ONE being the best.
They thought the water was a little high and the current strong but We tried anyway and by that time We were already so wet I was like why not and went for it. OH MY!! It was so so so so so cold!!! But I chichinged it! The worst part was that they missed the picture of Us in the deepest part of the crossing and made Us go back in. ROFLOL!!
Thanks for Zoltig for hiding this for Us....SO FUN!!
We had a really good day of caching and making new friends.
EMC sings with "SixthWave". If your ever get the chance to catch them in concert DO IT!!
Hanging out with friends after the concert, having dinner from The KeithAchi was a great ending for the day.
Thanks to Everyone that shared this adventure with me I had a BLAST!!
OH! I forgot to mention Uncle Elwyn. He is a TB that I have had on my watchlist forever. EMC brought him to me from California and He is now sitting next to my computer. Super, Super Cool!!

Out caching with Queen Zelda, zoltig, and EMC. I told QZ that this cache is one that she MUST DO while in the area, but we weren't really sure if the river was passable yet, especially with the recent rains. After parking, changing into sandals and shorts, we started the trek.

The walk to the river bank was pretty uneventful, but I must admit I am not used to walking in sandals and squished one of my toes on a rock. Lesson learned.

Hitting the water, ankle deep at first, it became obvious that it is still early in the season - the water is COLD!

A little deeper in the river we go, knee deep and the sounds of QZ giggling and saying words that may make a sailor blush, but we continued. We had arrived at the island/sandbar. A quick check of water depths and we know - it's only going to get colder.

QZ is unstoppable though. We gave zoltig the cameras and now not-water-proof GPS, keys to EMC, and off we went in the deepest part of our trek.

First to the waist, which didn't seem that bad. The current is swift and constant.

Then the chest, with a stronger current. An uphill walk facing the current was the only way not to drift downstream. At one point QZ started swimming as her feet weren't quite stable on the bottom.

But the pass was made. Arriving on the other side, dripping from head to toe, we scurried up the bank to search for the cache. As I had already found it, I let QZ do the actual finding.

The cache is nice and dry inside now, but there are signs that it was once wet. The coin that is supposed to be here isn't. I didn't think to check the logs to see if someone wrote anything about it.

The trek back was the same as the way in, strong current and chest deep water. Photos included.
