Kaptain Kondict's Kids Kash Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

briansnat: Saw JC's note and ran over to check it out. It certainly looked like someone left in a hurry. As I stood by the cache I started to hear the same buzzing noise, so I picked up the container, logbook and other stuff and hauled out of there.

I came back a few minutes later once the hornets calmed downto see where the nest was. Turns out it's a hole in the ground about 10 feet from the cache. There were a LOT of them.

The camo is rotting away, so it's time for this to go anyway. It's had a good run.

Geocache Description:

As children of the 50's, 60's and 70's we all remember the Captain Kangaroo television show. What many do not know is that Captain Kangaroo ripped off the idea from a local, Minneapolis kids show called Kaptain Kondict's Kiddie Korner which premiered on KATV in 1953.

In 1956, Kaptain Kondict sued Captain Kangaroo for theft of intellectual property. On the day before the case was to go to trial, Kaptain Kondict disappeared, never to be heard from again.

In 1961, Diver Dan found a pair of Kaptain Kondict's shoes encased in cement off of Sandy Hook, but there was no sign of the good Captain.

Fast forward to 1994. A strange man with a pronounced limp and a purple fedora arrived at the door of Kaptain Kondicts old Army buddy, Fred Rodgers. Without a word he handed him an envelope and disappered into the darkness. The only thing inside were some map coordinates written in charcoal on a piece of driftwood (N41° 00.212, W074° 23.074)and the initials KK. Since Mr Rodgers didn't have a GPS, he was never able to find out what was at the coordinates. When Mr. Rodgers passed on to the big neighborhood in the sky, I purchased some items from his estate on eBay. Among them was the envelope containing the piece of driftwood and the coordinates.

I immediately went to the spot and found Kaptain Kondict's treasure. I took all the valuable stuff. Gold coins, diamonds, 2 million dollars in cash and a Bobby Murcer rookie card. There were also a lot of toys inside. Having no use for them, I left them behind for the kids to enjoy.

Kaptain Kondicts Kids Kash contains kid oriented trade items. Kindly trade like items.

There are picnic tables not far from the cache. Its a nice place to spend the afternoon. The lake has pretty good fishing and they also rent boats.
