Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden behind a fire station

This small cache is located near Paincourtville Volunteer Fire Department's Station #3, which was built in the 1990's to provide coverage to the Grand Bayou and Bayou Corne communities.  The original Station 3, located on this site, collapsed during Hurricane Gustav in 2008.  The existing station was built on the site of the previous one, with the assistance of local industry and in compliance with the newer more stringent wind rating codes.

Station 3 curently houses Engine 32 and Service 34. You will also see a shipping container we use for live burn training on occasion. The original engine PF3, which used to be parked behind the station (and was the original hiding place of the cache) has been donated to a local church for restoration.

Congratulations to cajundriftwood for FTF!
