*gln: ARCHIVING ABANDONED CACHE

Greetings MissStep13,

Looks like our timing is off and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't any maintenance here in a very long time, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Archiving due to lack of maintenance is permanent.
CACHE ARCHIVAL IS PERMANENT.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

I don't even live in St Louis... I'm hundreds and hundreds of miles away! But this town needed some geo-action bad, so I took a stand here and I work hard in ensuring the quality and durability of these hides for your visit. All of CoolCache's former St Louis hides shown below. Most have been archived due to repeated damage by cachers. The TB Chateau is the last one I've kept going over all these years....yes I'm still around at times but other bigger internet projects keep me busy:

Please write legibly but small on every line of the logs so I can read your name. I have to do log verifications because of geospammers.
Another CoolCache original hide. Due to high muggle activity in the area, please visit on the weekend or after hours.

Come rest your weary travel bugs in the cozy Travel Bug Chateau, a full size travel bug hotel very near downtown St. Louis. As I travel around I'm often frustrated by an extreme lack of full size caches and having no place to 'intern' the bugs I'm traveling for my geo-friends.

"The Chateau" resides in a more industrial area of the town but just a short distance from the Arch and my other St. Louis hides (see below). It is designed to be an easy find and a secure place for your travel bugs. Located in a small field, with care, you should be able to achieve the privacy needed for your trades. Watch for the many bunnies in the spring and summer.

Please try to trade your TBs on a one-to-one ratio, keeping five bugs MINIMUM in the cache at all times. Several out-of-town folks have made a special trip to the Chateau and found it empty before. And if you're wondering why it's called "The Chateau" (this place IS ugly!)... check out the street sign nearby. Enjoy!

>>>> 6/25/06: The little building next to the field house "C&K Granite" fabricators. "Troy" is the oriental curator/owner and knows about the cache. He likes to fish.

>>>> 6/01/07: Granite fabricators may be out of business.

>>>> 4/22/12: Traveled to St Louis today especially for the Chateau. Cache replaced as a favor to my friend *gln and all the cachers that have liked having a trader in downtown St Louis. It looks like the concrete slab collapsed and entombed the last cache. New .50 cal can there, not quite as hidden as before. New log and pen inside, no TBs or trackables yet. Replace the big concrete rock if you want it to last. Cache coords and page updated. The little building is vacant but field is mowed. -CoolCache
>>>> 4/28/13: Cache was transferred from the original owner to MissStep13. I live in the area and will keep a close watch on this awesome cache.
