Neem deel aan een wereldwijd event - vijfde editie - dat slechts 15 minuten duurt. Op verschillende locaties wordt er gelijktijdig een korte, ludieke actie georganiseerd. Door de verschillende tijdzones op aarde, vindt het event in België plaats van 19u00 tot 19u15.
Het is de bedoeling om met zoveel mogelijk geocachers te verzamelen en het event te loggen, en dat binnen een tijd van slechts 15 minuten.
Wereldwijd gebeurd dit op hetzelfde moment, en ik vind dat Brussel niet mag ontbreken.
Daarom verwacht ik zo veel mogelijk Vlaamse, Waalse, Brusselse en "visiting/tourist" geocachers op de Brusselse Grote Markt. Ik denk dus niet dat je je GPS nodig hebt. MAAR: vergeet hem niet - mogelijk deel ik -na- het event een nieuwe Expo58 cache uit die binnen loop-afstand (spurt-afstand voor de FTF jagers?) van de Grote Markt ligt.
Wat gaan we doen, en hoe?
Breng een PARAPLU mee!!!!! Liefst in een FELLE KLEUR.
Het is de bedoeling dat we met z'n allen van 19u00 tot 19u05 te zien zullen zijn op het internet via de live stream webcam die op de Grote Markt gericht staat: (visit link) of (visit link)
(PS: kan iemand van jullie deze livestream "opnemen" op het moment van het event??? Wat mij betreft mag de cacher die hiervoor thuisblijft het event ook loggen als "attended", voor zover hij/zij mij dat op voorhand laat weten.)
Zorg dus dat je vóór 19u00 aanwezig bent in de buurt van of al op de Grote Markt. Slenter wat rond en laat vooral niet merken dat je iets van plan bent.
Kom tegen 19u00 stipt zo nonchalant mogelijk naar het MIDDEN van de Grote Markt, waar ik dan ook al zal staan. Als acterend toerist (breng je camera mee!) zal dat wel niet opvallen.
Je kan mij herkennen aan de grote event-box die ik zal meedragen, en mijn geocaching-fleece en muts.
Om 19u00 stipt OPEN JE JE PARAPLU en hou die minstens open tot 19u05. Ondertussen zal ik al beginnen met het verdelen van de event-logpapiertje waarop je dan kan loggen.
Als we met z'n velen zijn, moet dat op de webcam vast en zeker een mooi beeld zijn. En voor de andere mensen op dat moment op de Grote Markt allicht ook. Stel je voor: tientallen (ik ben bescheiden) of hopelijk honderden paraplus die we gedurende 5 minuten als een grote, kleurrijke vlek in het midden van de Grote Markt kunnen zien!
HIERVOOR MOET JE DUS ACTIEF MEEWERKEN OM HET EEN GESLAAGD EVENT TE MAKEN.
Tussen 19u05 en 19u15 kan je dan snel je logpapiertje droppen in de event-box. Er kunnen ook goodies geruild worden, wat leuk is voor de kids.
Dit is een officieel geocache event! Dus alleen de logs van de aanwezigen die een (leesbaar) ingevuld event-logpapiertje in de event-box gedropt hebben zijn geldig en mogen daarna op het internet als "attended" gelogd worden.
Om 19u14 is het tijd voor een groepsfoto van de aanwezigen. Dit moet heel snel gebeuren.
(PS: hiervoor zoek ik nog een vrijwilliger om deze groepsfoto te maken.)
Om 19u15 wordt de logbox afgesloten en door mij meegenomen, en iedereen verlaat het midden van de Grote Markt in verschillende richtingen. Er is geen spoor meer van het event.
Aanmelden gaat door middel van een "will attend note" als je wil deelnemen aan het grootste geocaching event in de wereld.
We zien elkaar op 2 mei!

Participez à un event mondial – le 5ième – qui durera seulement 15 minutes ! A différents endroits et au même moment, des actions amusantes sont organisées. Vu le décalage horaire, l’event belge aura lieu de 19h00 à 19h15.
Le but de cet event est de rassembler autant de géocacheurs que possible à un endroit donné pour logger l’event en faisant quelque chose d’amusant.
Ceci a lieu au même moment et à différents endroits travers le monde. J’ai pensé que Bruxelles devait y participer aussi.
Appel à tous les touristes géocacheurs en visite à Bruxelles le 2 mai: participez à cet event ! Rendez-vous à la Grand Place – vous n’aurez sûrement pas besoin de votre GPS pour la trouver. Mais prenez quand même votre récepteur avec: je pourrais publier une nouvelle cache Expo58 après l’event (atteignable à pied – ou “au pas de course” pour les chasseurs de FTF).
Que va-t-il se passer ?
Apportez un PARAPLUIE!!!! Si possible un COLORE.
L’idée est d’OUVRIR TOUS LES PARAPLUIES de 19h00 à 19h05 et de faire un évènement coloré plein écran visible sur la webcam qui filme le centre de la Grand Place : (visit link) ou (visit link)
Donc venez équipé et trouvez vous sur ou près de la Grand Place avant 19h00. Promenez-vous, mine de rien. Ne laissez personne deviner ce que vous avez l’intention de faire.
A 19h00, rendez-vous au CENTRE de la Grand Place.
Comportez-vous comme un touriste (prenez votre appareil photo !) et personne ne suspectera rien. Je m’y trouverai avec la boîte pour logger l’event (avec des gadgets à échanger). Vous me reconnaîtrez à mon fleece geocaching et à ma casquette.
A 19h00 exactement OUVREZ VOTRE PARAPLUIE et gardez le ouvert au moins 5 minutes.
Si nous sommes nombreux, cela devrait se remarquer sur la webcam, visible pour tous ceux qui regarderont à ce moment. Je suppose que les autres personnes sur la Grand Place vont nous remarquer aussi. Imaginez quelques dizaines (je suis humble) ou des centaines (si possible) de parapluies ouverts au même moment, formant un blob coloré au milieu de la Grand Place.
VOUS DEVEZ PARTICIPER ACTIVEMENT POUR FAIRE DE CET EVENT UN SUCCES !
Logging
Je distribuerai des feuilles de log pour event à partir de 19h00. Vous pouvez ensuite rapidement le déposer entre 19h05 et 19h15 dans l’event-box que j’aurai avec moi.
Ceci est un event geocaching officiel. Donc seul les logs des participants qui ont effectivement et physiquement déposés un log d’event (lisible) dans la boîte sont valables et peuvent être loggés comme « attended » !
A 19h14 on prendra une photo de groupe de tous les participants. Il faut que cela aille rapidement, soyez donc prêt.
A 19h15, l’event-box sera fermée et je l’emporterai chez moi. Tout le monde quittera alors le centre de la Grand Place pour ne laisser aucune trace de cet event (autre que le stream de la webcam et de la photo de groupe).
Si vous pensez participer, postez une note “will attend".

Participate in a worldwide event - fifth edition - that lasts for only 15 minutes! At different locations at the same time a short, playfull action is organized. Due to different timezones on Earth, the event in Belgium is from 19h00 to 19h15.
The purpose of this event is to gather as much geocachers as possible at one spot at the same time logging the event, while doing something playfull.
Worldwide, this happens at the same time. I thought Brussels should be participating as well.
Call to action to all geocaching tourists visiting Brussels on May 2nd: be part of this event! Come to the Grand Place - I guess you won't need your GPS to find it. But do bring your unit, as I might publish a new Expo58 cache -after- the event (within walking distance - or be it running distance for the FTF hunters?).
What's going to happen?
Bring an UMBRELLA!!!! Preferably a COLORFUL one.
The idea is to OPEN ALL UMBRELLAS from 19h00 to 19h05 and make a colorful screen-filling event to be seen on the live stream webcam pointed at the center of the Grand Place:

So come prepared and be at or near the Grand Place before 19h00, wandering around. Don't let anybody suspect what you are about to do.
Come at 19h00 to the CENTER of the Grand Place. Act (or be) a tourist (bring your camera!) and nobody will suspect anything. I will be there with the event-logbox (with goodies to trade). You'll recognize me by my geocaching fleece and hat that I will be wearing.
At 19h00 exact OPEN YOUR UMBRELLA and keep it open for at least 5 minutes.
If we are plenty, we should make an impression on the webcam, to be seen to all watching at that moment. I guess other people at the Grand Place will notice, too. Imagine tens (I'm humble) or hundreds (hopefully) umbrellas open at the same time, forming a colorful "moving blob" in the middle of the Grand Place.
YOU'LL HAVE TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCES!
Logging
I will be spreading event log-papers from 19h00 onwards Then you can quickly drop it between 19h05 and 19h15 in the event-box that I will be carrying with me.
This is an official geocaching event. So only logs from the attendees that have actually and physically dropped a (readable) event log-paper in the event-box are valid an can be logged on this page as "attended"!
At 19h14 we will have a group-photo being taken of all attendees. This has to go fast and quick, so be prepared for this, too.
At 19h15, the event-box is closed and taken home by me. Everybody leaves the center of the Grand Place, and there is no trail of this event any more (other than the - hopefully captured - stream of the webcam and the group-photo).
If you plan to participate, log a "will attend" note.
