Geocache Description:

The Lower Elwha River Bridge officially opens with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:00pm Friday, September 25th, 2009.

I have been watching the building of this awesome bridge for many months and am so excited to finally see it complete. What excites me most is that this 85 foot high bridge is pedestrian/bicyclist friendly! A 14 foot wide pedestrian deck is suspended under a 28 foot wide automobile deck. Part of the Olympic Discovery Trail, this deck allows pedestrians and bikers to stop and enjoy the beautiful views without worrying about traffic.
