Geocache Description:

Welcome to the "Muddier Lake" mystery cache!

This cache was named after the nickname my son gave this pond a few years ago.  We were driving from Cedar Rapids towards Palo one day.  When we crossed the Mud Lake bridge just East of this area, I told my son that the Lake was called Mud Lake.  We have had a bunch of rain recently and these small ponds along the North side of Blairs Ferry Road were stirred up and looked like chocolate milk.  As we passed by these ponds, my son said that this must be "Muddier Lake" then.  And it has been called that in our family ever since.

The coordinates provided are for parking only.  DO NOT take a vehicle beyond the gate at the parking lot area even if the gate is open.  This road is used as an access to the Croel Redi-Mix quarry.  DO NOT block the gate if it is closed.

The road leading back to the parking area from Blairs Ferry Road has a designed low point to allow water to flow over the road under high water conditions.  This area has larger bolders and rock to restrict the erosion.  DO NOT attempt to drive the road if "Muddier Lake" is higher than the road.  The water can be pretty deep and swift at times.  If you see water over the road, come back another time to get your smiley.  Standard rule of thumb would be to know what the Cedar Raiver conditions are in the area.  When the River his high, the road will certainly be overtopped by "Muddier Lake" since it connects to the River.

There are many different species of ducks and geese we have seen using "Muddier Lake".  In order to solve the final coordinates of the container, you will have to identify some of these ducks we have identified over the years.
