This cache started as a whim. I was at an event cache and
started a conversation with the cache honoree's daughter. We talked
about a specific cache I once hid that has confounded and irritated
one of my favorite geocaching friends. Well, one thing led to
another and it led to me placing this really nasty challenge in
honor of Teresa's dislike of tiny little caches in really difficult
to find places.
To find this cache, you will need to start the Lakeview By Night
cache. While you are following the trail markers, you will need to
find one unique marker that looks like a T formed out of 5 fire
tacks. From the spot of the marker, you will need to leave the
trail and find a zip-tied matchstick container. The matchstick tube
is perpendicular to the trail from where you find the T. However,
you will need to determine which direction you want to search and
how far. The container is less than 75 feet from the trail. I did
place a small reflective strip on the container, so you will spot
it at night once you shine your flashlight on it. Beware of briars
all over the place here. The coordinates to the final are inside
the matchstick holder.
The final cache is beyond the final for Lakeview By Night. I did
place a few trail tacks on the trail but not many. You will be
walking very near the lake, so be careful. Once you arrive at GZ,
you will then need to determine how to make the final feet to the
cache. The cache is nano in size, but I did place a dayglow clip
near the container. The dayglow clip has reflectors on both sides,
so you should be able to spot the general area in the day or night.
The terrain is challenging any time, but especially so at night.
Please do not attempt to make a retrieval at night if you are not
comfortable doing so.
I have a $5 Starbucks gift card for the FTF.
