I was inspired by “climbstuff’s” Maritime History series , with its definitions of the origins of obscure phrases, to dedicate a cache to my Dad who, while alive, joined me on a few Geocaching expeditions in Florida. As a kid, he was not always the nicest father. An expression the 4 boys often heard was, “If you keep that up, you’re going to get “What Ho!” My brothers and I knew what “What Ho!” meant … it had something to do with a swat to the buttocks.
