A small cache located in a less frequently visited Scott County park. Hidden Lake is hidden in an area that is a quiet place to fish and walk around the lake. This lake is also used for scuba diving training sessions.
Hidden Lake is located in the Crow Creek Wildlife Refuge area, which is just north of Davenport on old highway U.S. 61.
While out at this park performing maintenance on one of our other caches, we decided to scout out some other places to hide a new cache. Upon searching for a new location we noticed that this park is a good place to practice CITO. There are also some recyclables that can be found here. In fact the cache container for Hidden Lake was formally used for the now archived “Crow Creek North” multi-cache, but is now recycled for use with this cache so it should be familiar to some local Geocachers.
This park is not really suitable for an ammo box cache so this cache is a bit smaller, but it is not a micro. It’s in between a micro and a small cache. Maybe it can be called a smicro or a micrall. It does have room for small items and is starting out with a couple of balls and small dinosaurs, along with a log sheet. Please be sure to bring your own pen.
As always, thank you for your patronage to a SpaceCowboy & PattyAnn Geocache.
