Come join the Southern Arizona Geocacher’s in celebrating the
anniversary and starting the 2nd year with a clean up.
Last year on March 25, 2006, geocaching teams from all over
Southern Arizona met for the first time to take on the duties of
cleaning a part of the Alamo Wash and have done an excellent job at
keeping it clean. We have adopted the section from Grant Road to
Pima Street and on September 9, 2006 we were officially recognized
with an Adoption Ceremony through Tucson
Clean and Beautiful.
We are continuing the tradition and this time we will be
starting at the Northern end of the wash. The start time will be at
8:00 a.m. on Saturday March 31, 2007 at the Safeway Parking lot (SE
corner of Grant Road at Craycroft Road). Coordinates are: N 32°
15.018 W 110° 52.352.
Trash bags, latex gloves, and cold water will be provided. As
many of you have been there before, you may want to bring a pair of
leather or gardening gloves, sunscreen, hat, bug spray, snacks, and
any other type of re-hydrating drink (i.e., Gatorade) you might
need. The average temperatures for this day range from 47° to 77°
with a minimal chance of rain, so you might want to dress in
layers.
Update: March 23, 2007
There will be a little anniversary present for all teams who
attend as well as some special prizes generously donated by
Worldcaching.
Remember we will be
starting at 8:00 a.m. on March 31st.
We look forward to seeing
you there!!
