The Mrs. and I really enjoy these Cook Your Own Dog events so we decided to host our second Cook Your Own Dog event at the shelter on the FLT outside of Pike, NY. The parking coordinates will take you to the FLT trailhead alongside Camp Rd. From there it is a short walk alongside the field to where the trail enters the woods. The shelter and pond are just inside the woods. (.20 from the parking)
For those of you that have never been to a CYOD event this is how it works. We supply the dogs for roasting, fire to roast the dogs on, sticks to roast the dogs with, bun to wrap the dogs in, and all the good stuff to cover the dogs with. You bring your beverage of choice, a lawn chair, your best roasting stick twirling skills, and your lies, tall tales, and caching adventure stories for everyone's amusement around the campfire. Got a dish to share? Bring it along as it is much appriciated although it is not required. Everything goes good with hot dogs! Even S'mores!
