Geocache Description:

This cemetery is the resting place of the first settlers of Meriden from 1729-1777.

This cemetery and the stone monument here details the location of the first meeting house in Meriden (which was actually located "50 rods west of this Memorial". The monument lists the names of the first settlers who were buried here. This cemetery is bordered by St. Stanislaus Cemetery on one side and residential homes on the other. DO NOT look for this cache after dark. Use stealth and respect this area!! The hint will be very specific as what and where the cache container is. The cache has gone missing several times but we think this is such a neat historic cemetery that we want to keep a cache here. We used to have this as a premium member cache only but have changed it so more people can appreciate this spot. NO NEED TO TAKE CONTAINER OFF OF FENCE, OPEN COVER, TAKE OUT LOG, SIGN IT AND PUT BACK IN. Bring a pen. This won't be accessible with more than 6 inches or more of snow.
