How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

4T24T is a multi-cache. The coordinates are for the starting point. There you will find information enabling you to identify the second point. At the second point, you’ll be able to figure out where the third point is, and so forth.

There is a real cache at the end of the trail and you might even learn a thing or two along the way. When logging your adventure, please be careful not to give away the location of the cache nor any of the checkpoints. The name of the geocache is the only clue given but you can email me if you need a little help or if something seems to be amiss. Happy hunting!

Note: A multi digit variable represents a number of that many places. For example, X might represent 0-9, while XX would represent 10-99. A multi digit variable in a formual does not mean to use that number multiple times. For example, if XX=50 and YYY=150, then XXYYY would be 50150, not 5050150150150.

At the starting point:
Note the number of beams (BB), windows on the east wall (E), windows on the west wall (W), doors on the east wall (D), and doors on the west wall (R).

2895839 plus EWBBDR
9932894 plus RDBBWE

At checkpoint #2:
Note the charter date (MMDDYYYY) and the sale price (PPPPPPP).

5981519 minus PPPPPPP
12980446 minus MMDDYYYY

At checkpoint #3:
Note the number of red bricks between the benches (BBB), the year Gary Everett died (GG), the number next to the star (NN), and the date of the crash near Van Horn (MMDDYYYY).

I received a very nice article from 2Techsans about the man for whom this place was named. A marker was unveiled Jan. 21, 2005 in his honor. A very impressive individual. Take time to find it and read it.

BBBNNGG minus 5359895
MMDDYYYY minus 1349980

At checkpoint #4:
Note the number of trainees (TTTTT), hospital beds (BBBB), theaters (H), clubs (C), and chapels (PP).

TTTTT times PP plus 2320472
BBBB squared times C minus H minus 628245

Credit - After finding this cache and corresponding with
B-1 WSO, (who placed this cache) we discovered he had relocated to another state. We found the cache needing some TLC. Thus, we contacted Geocache about adopting 4T24T and as of June 10, 2004, we are the new owners.

This is an awesome hunt and it is something we wanted to do ourselves regarding the history about this area. We didn't want the cache to become archived and are proud to be able to keep it going. Thank you to B-1 WSO for putting it together.
