Chess, in my opinion the perfect game. An ancient game which truly
blends skill and art.
I first learned the game years ago during Bobby Fischer’s match
against Boris Spassky in which he wrested the World Championship
title from the Russians. He was not, however, America’s first World
Champ. Paul Morphy laid claim to that title back in the mid 19th
century. As a history teacher and chess player, I would love to
have been able to see Morphy vs Fischer. It would have been a
brilliant match!
