Geocache Description:


The cache is located in new woodland at Rough Hill which has been created as part of the National Forest and extends to approximately 70 acres (28 hectares). The woodland consists of a mixture of broad-leaved and mixed plantations and has been planted mostly with species which are native to the British Isles. The woodland design links the new planting into the existing areas of woodland/heathland and also provides open, unplanted areas which will be managed as wildflower meadows.
Car parking for about half a dozen cars is available on Benscliffe Road at the entrance to the woods at N52 42.141 W001 13.764. Alternatively there is the pay and display car park at the Old John entrance to Bradgate Park close by.
The cache is located very close to the permissive path which makes a circuit of the woods.
Wellington boots are advisable as some areas get very muddy!
