Park History: In 1904, the Lundeen family started building a
private resort on their Lake Stevens farm which later became known
throughout Snohomish County for its dance hall, ball field,
swimming beach and other attractions. The famous dance hall later
burned and the property was sold in the late 60's. In 1977
Snohomish County purchased 9.25 acres of the former resort property
and the site was developed in 1992. While there, you can swim in a
large secure swimming area, fish off the dock, picnic at one of
three covered reservable picnic shelters or on large tables in the
open areas, watch children play on the playground equipment, or
play basketball on the outdoor court. The park is located beside a
sensitive wetland on the north shore of Lake Stevens. This park
also provides interpretive displays explaining the ecology of the
local wetland.
