Ichou of this ginkgo [okayahata] Shinto shrine is [**ko] ..shake.. [shitano] of sword 1 here [minamoto**ke] for [yasushihira] five years (1062) as for [wo] dedicating Hachimangu shrine and is told that the start.
This ground of 1725 (1725) became public astringency [sare] Machiya.
It is named a Fukui-cho around here by Mamoru Ooka of magistrate of the town Echizen in 1730 (1730), and this Shinto shrine is revered as [santsuchikami], and believed in by the wish until today.

この銀杏岡八幡神社の創祀は康平5年（1062年）源義家はここに太刀一振を捧げ八幡宮を勧請したのが始まりだと伝えられています。
享保10年（1725年）この地が公収され町屋となりました。
享保15年（1730年）には町奉行大岡越前守によりこの辺りは福井町と命名され、願いによりこの神社は産土神として崇敬され、今日まで信仰されています。
