I’m not going to say too much about how to find it because it’s supposed to be a challenge, but you don’t have to wade across the river to get there. My gps was reading about 20-foot accuracy. The container is a clear plastic jug about eight inches square with a white screw on lid.
Cautionary note: This place is used by teenagers for “parties”. I suggest going during daylight hours.
Additional note: The grave marker has apparently gone missing. Whether this was a case of vandalism or not, I don’t know. There is a picture in the gallery of the marker so that if anyone happens to find it maybe they can put it back.
Update 03/26/2022: The original container was missing. This is now a waterproof container inside an Ammo Box. The original monument marker is also there. I have kept all the information as it was when placed except for a parking attribute as there is a place to parked opposite side of the river from the trailhead. Please hide this the same or better as you found it, so others can have the same experience.
