Geocache Description:

The River Ter Loop is a circular walk of about 3 miles, partly along the banks of the River Ter just as it approaches its confluence with the River Chelmer.

This is one of my favourite walks, as it is peaceful and has lovely views. The first and last parts of the walk are along a road, but it is extremely quiet, with wide grass verges to step on to should a car happen to come along. The road follows the watershed between the valleys of the Ter and Chelmer, providing lovely views across to Hatfield Peverel and Little Baddow. The whole walk should take about one and a half hours – in winter beware of mud, and also the river occasionally floods.

Parking is available adjacent to River Ter Loop # 1 – 1951 – The Other Side (at
N 51.45.349 E 00.35.630). This has room for about 3 cars. There is also some parking near caches 2 and 3 of this series.

You could combine this series with some of the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation Series with a short detour.

I hope you enjoy the walk!

This cache is a small black screw top container - please replace well hidden, as it's a popular spot for muggles to stop - as can be seen by all the rubbish lying about.
