On the Whyalla Centenary Trailway.

In 1939 a water tank was built on the northeast slope of Hummock Hill to supply water pressure for fire fighting and domestic mains.
Whyalla was divided into three areas and water was turned on in each area twice a week between Monday and Saturday. No water was available on Sundays.

The water tank is visible from GZ, although the storyboard with the above information is a bit further up the hill. I didn’t place the cache there because it would have been too close to an existing cache.

While you are unlikely to have muggles nearby, other than in cars on the nearby road, be aware that you could be seen from the lookout carpark on top of Hummock Hill.

Cache is a camouflaged micro – tweezers might come in handy to extract the log scroll – and please remember to bring your own writing implement.
You do not need to leave the trail to find the cache.

Replaced log scroll.
Yet again I was surprised at the “cache creep” suffered by this cache.
As always, please replace the cache where you find it – thanks.

Going against the grain, I did it on a Sunday, and nearly paid the price with my sanity.
Of course it was dark, it was cold and the wind was blowing that lovely red dust my way.
Every Hoon in Whyalla was doing circuits of the hill track, and my head torch was beginning to fade.
Did get some nice photos, (attached) and did eventually find cache.
Dam hard to find in the dark on a Sunday. But well worth it!
