Geocache Description:

A short, easy walk on a game trail to a local cave.
En kort vandring till en mindre grotta.

This is the second in a series of caches we have placed in Hallsberg in some of Jonas’ favorite spots. We thought the town where he grew up needed a few more caches to demonstrate its charm.

Gramms Grotta is the name of a cave outside Hallsberg. According to local lore, the cave is named for a tramp named Gramm who lived in the cave about 50 years ago. We didn’t notice it, but his name is supposedly carved somewhere in the stone outside. If you come at the right time of year, bring a bucket and you can have your fill of blueberries and lingonberries.

You can park at N 59°02.788, E 015°06.838. From there you can walk up an old dirt road and then take a narrower game trail toward the cache. The cache is not actually hidden inside the cave, but it is nearby.

The cache is a 2.0 liter plastic box. We chose a box with a watertight seal in order to try to keep the elements out. Please make sure the seal is tight when you close it. Inside is a logbook, pencil and sharpener. There are also small items for trade, as well as a scratch-game as a first-finder prize.
