Fire department Belišće is the oldest association in the city of Belišće. The emergence and development of the fire service in Belišće is closely linked to the development of the industry and the place itself. Establishment of industrial sawmill and its commissioning, (in November 27th 1884.) owner of the sawmill S. H. Gutmann founded the first fire band. According to the regulations, no company could not be insured, if she had no fire protection. For this reason, Gutmann started a fire troop in Belišće and was its sponsor.
Members of the Fire Brigade were company employees, mostly clerks, craftsmen and foremen, and being a firefighter represented a kind of honor as well as today. Great technological changes in 21st century, caused the need to find new and more efficient ways of preventive fire protection in a number of new and modified technology resources.
Organizing a number of courses at the Fire Board of Belišće, in recent years, fire department Belišće achieved an enviable level of education of members of the Company, from the smallest to the oldest of those who actively and regularly participate in fire-fighting interventions.
