Messalonskee Stream Trail Series of 7 hides. Start with Messalonskee Trail Series #1 and find in order. Begin in Oakland at parking coordinates N 44 32.834 & W 069 42.688. Each of the first 6 caches contains a part of the coordinates that will lead you to #7.
Bridging The Gap is #3 in the Messalonskee Trail Series.
The trail leads along the ridge above a deep gorge before winding down to meet the stream, which has now opened up to lake-width.
The forest changes back and forth from hardwoods to softwoods as you walk or snowshoe happily along, occasionally crossing well-constructed log bridges spanning the ravines.
