Geocache Description:

An easy walk from just outside of Peebles and Eddleston.

The purpose of this cache is to say Happy Birthday to my brother, otherwise known as 'Shrek, Fiona and Donkey'. He will hopefully be using his newly aquired GPS receiver to seek this one himself after a number of years seeking them with me.

This is a pleasant walk up a small hill from just outside of Peebles and Eddleston. The cache itself is a medium sized tupperware box wrapped in a thick black garden sack.

This cache is best started from the South East of the final location. There is roadside parking on Old Manse Road which is the right hand turn off the A703 just as you reach Eddlestonif you are driving from the North. The parking location is at N 55° 40.808 W 003° 14.901. From here the cache is approximately a 2.5 mile walk if you keep to the tracks. I have attached the necessary portion of the OS Landranger Maps you may wish to use.

If after this walk you require sustenance, then I can highly recommend the Horseshoe Inn in Eddleston itself. This is not a place for a cheap pub lunch though but it does offer a very high standard of service and food. More info can be found here:

I have arranged for this cache not to be published until 02/04/07. This is to allow my brother, for whom this cache was created, to be the first to find it.
