This cache is named after the DC comic book character Swamp
Thing. This character defends the swamp and environment from
various threats so don't litter and don't wear any BP T-shirts. :-)
In the case of this cache Swamp Thing refers to the wildlife in the
swamp. While placing the cache I saw a turtle on a stump in the
water (shown below) and a blue heron. Perhaps you will see your own
Swamp Thing when you hunt this cache.
The water in this area was quite high in the spring of 2010 when
we had our 100 year flood. In fact I saw a few guys fishing from
this spot during the flood. Today the water is low due to the long
dry summer. Just wait a few more months.
This cache container was indirecty
provided by a group of cachers who kindly left it at one of my
other caches that had been damaged. Thought I would say thanks by
redeploying this container for another hunt.
