New York Admin: Its been over 5 months and maintenance does not appear to be forthcoming leaving me no option other than to archive the cache.

A very small plastic jar hidden near the North Meadow Recreation Center- kid friendly and a quick and easy find.
The North Meadow Recreation Center is located mid-park at 97th street and is an under-appreciated jewel.
This center offers a variety of activities, almost all for free or for a small charge and alvailable for kids of all ages. Facilities include, but are not limited to; outdoor basketball and handball courts, baseball fields adjacent, indoor climbing wall (fee), bathrooms, drinking fountain and vending machines. Good stuff to know as you go exploring this part of the park for caching- or any other activity.

By the way, I noticed on the old Central Park maps (and also on the most recent USGS quad) that there once was a semi-circular drive that led off of the 97th St Transverse to and from the Center. Now, only part of that drive exists, and it is still in use- but only by the Parks personnel. So, you'll have to foot it to the cache, no driving (that includes bicycles).
