Geocache Description:

A potluck get together for Poison Oak Cachers, their families, friends and prospective members.

SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 2005 - NOON 'til 5:30 p.m.

UPDATED 4/2/05

Thanks to all who attended our little shindig, and especially to those who contributed. SO many people brought not ONLY food for the potluck, but also items that made the whole day go more smoothly - paper products, nametags, goodies, toys and activities for the kids.

Here are some images I took. Post yours, too. We'd love to see them. (And don't forget the Poison Oak Cachers website.

The raffle was pretty exciting, but not THIS exciting. This is the POC Candidate for designated driver when we have our wine/dessert gathering! (All in fun, of course. We DO hope you weren't too sore from your fall.)

THIS is the GPSr to have...full color, routing and it comes complete with a geocaching crew!

The kids get crafty.

Pinata time! (Check the moster's leg...great hit!)

Rebel yell.

Waiting to get their licks in.

Geocache cammoflagers in training

Bring a Travel Bug to swap, GeoCoin to trade or just come along and join us for a family-friendly picnic and day of geo-eventing at Waller Park, group site #5 (thanks Oreo Pony for reserving the site). Look for a bunch of people carrying GPSrs and a few wearing GPS gear.

Bring something to put in our ammo cache container and earn an extra chance to win the cache for placement by you!

RSVP with the number in your party, PLEASE, including number of adults and number of children (I hope to have kiddie acitivities just for the little cachers among us). :)

And let us know what you'll be bringing to the potluck. I, for one, am bringing "Poison Oak" salad (though no real poison oak will be used) and Rash Cookies (sugar cookies decorated with red sprinkles). :)

Menu (thus far):

Sandwiches ala Oreo Pony deli sandwiches (Team Fireball) deli and PB&J sandwiches (WilderNESSes) Poison Oak Salad (BBB) chicken wings (family forever) salad (RVUSA) salad (JustWalkin) salad (close enough) macaroni salad (Me&Honey) vegies (JustWalkin) fruit salad (AdamInCa) bread, salad or some such (JD GONE JEEPING) Rash Cookies (BBB) cookies (RVUSA) cookies (Mad Dog and General Grant) bread pudding (Mad Dog and General Grant) desert (chocolate??? Hint...hint) (GeoCats) OTHER ITEMS napkins, plates, forks (BBB, General Grant & The Mad Dog)

Anyone interested in helping organize ANY portion of this event: please e-mail me. Are you the Queen of the Barbecue? Got skills with the boombox? Interested in setting up a geo challenge for us all? How about kids' activities? Family Forever is bringing a croquet set and soccer balls. What interesting toys might YOU share?

This event is sponsored in part by Action Fax & Print, Xiao, OreoPony and Retired Cachers on Scooters each of whom has generously agreed to help cover a portion of the reservation fee.
