A demanding but very worthwhile cache in the Brecon Beacons
We have moved the cache a few metres to N51 52.704 W003 44.215 and put in a new log book (as of 18/09/2010).
Navigate your way to the car park at N51 54.002 W003 44.718 and from here you can look up and see where you are heading. I think you'll be quite impressed by the scarp edge.
Walk up the Water Authority gravel track, past the fish farm and reach the rescue station and lake (Llyn y Fan Fach). From here you turn right and follow the well marked grass trail upwards which takes you around the curve of the lake following the "Bannau Sir Gaer" (Horns of Carmarthenshire) and heads you towards the cache. The peak of the "Horns of Carmarthenshire" is at N51 52.956 W003 43.666 and is not far from the cache. The views from here are spectacular.
Please note that this cache is not suitable for young children and please take the correct wet weather gear. It is not suitable for totally inexperienced walkers.
