Geocache Description:

A cache to show you the dang.

The ‘Havouza’ or ‘Dang’ is an old system of storing water and was used by the Limassol Authorities in the 1800s.  This building was used to store water and was built in the late 19th century by the British colonial authorities.  Presumably this particular building was for the supply to Pissouri Jetty area.

The inscription on the plaque roughly translates to:

The waterbasin was restored and beautified at the expense of the Mellon Emigrants and Friends of Pissouri. The Opening Ceremonies of the project on 19 April 2001 were performed by the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, Mr Kostas Themistokleous.

GPS coverage is a bit dicey because of the trees.
