¿QUÉ ES?
Hace bastantes años en la Laguna volcánica de Almodóvar se hicieron en las laderas excavaciones, fáciles de conseguir, ya que, quitada la primera capa de las escorias esponjosas de este volcán, se encuentran cenizas y lápidi sueltos que favorecen la perforación de galerías. Así se efectuaron en el cono Oeste Cuevas, llamadas «Las Cavas», que son salas–habitaciones, que sirvieron de vivienda a gente pobre o gitana, que se quedaba a vivir en Almodóvar. En la ladera norte también se hicieron estas perforaciones donde se llegarón a excavar grandes galerías, en un primer momento sirvieron como refugio durante la guerra civil española de 1936, luego fueron trayendo material explosivo de uso militar. Su destino finalmente fué el de polvorín de la aviación. Dependía de la Región Aérea Central, con base en Getafe (Madrid) y era complemento del Aeródromo para bombarderos pesados que se había instalado en la carretera de Villamayor de Calatrava, en la zona conocida como "los paredones". Actualmente se encuentra abandonado y en deshuso, aunque sus galerías siguen intactas en su gran mayoría, pudiendo apreciarse los cancales de la instalación eléctrica y grandes tuberías que sirvieron de desagües para los refugiados y militares que habitarón el polvorín. Hoy en dia solo es visitado por curiosos de la historia española y valientes geocachers.
¿COMO LLEGAR?
Existen varias rutas para poder haceder, nosotros optamos por la más corta. Desde la CM-4110 dirección Puertollano-Almodóvar del Campo podremos localizar de forma visual en el márgen izquierdo de la carretera el molino en todo lo alto del cerro de la laguna y justo antes de pasarlo veremos un camino llamado “calle laguna”, que como su propio nombre indica, es la calle que une Almodóvar con la laguna y desde la cual llegaremos sin más complicaciones.
El polvorín está abandonado, ya que el ayuntamiento de la localidad de Almodóvar del Campo no se hace cargo de los gastos de reparación y mantenimiento necesarios para garantizar que estas construcciones históricas puedan ser visitadas en el futuro por nuestros nietos y bisnietos, de hecho la colina está en pelígro ya que la mitad oeste fue comprada por un vecino del pueblo, este se ha ocupado de desmantelar esta cara del cono volcánico, llevandose con él además de minerales, parte de las galerías del polvorín que atravesaban esta ladera y produciendo a su vez que el furturo de esta colina sea incierto.
CACHE
Una vez disfrutado el entorno es hora de intercambiar objetos. Para completar este caché deberás encontrar un recipiente de plástico de tamaño micro que te ayudará a encontrar el caché final. Este caché se encuentra en el interior del polvorín, por lo que será necesario ir provistos de linternas u otros objetos luminarios.
Este dispone de logbook, bolígrafo e imán como objetos no intercambiables, además de multiples objetos intercambiables.

THE POLVORÍN OF ALMODÓVAR DEL CAMPO
WHAT IS IT?

HOW TO GET ?
There are several routes to haceder , we opted for the shorter. Since the CM- 4110 address Puertollano - Almodóvar del Campo we can locate visually in the left margin of the road mill around the hilltop lagoon and just before passing will see a road called " lake street ", which as its name suggests , is the street that connects the lagoon with Almodóvar and from which arrive without complications .
The magazine is abandoned , as the council of the town of Almodovar del Campo is not responsible for the cost of repairs and maintenance needed to ensure that these historic buildings can be visited in the future for our children and grandchildren , in fact the hill is in danger because the western half was it purchased by a resident of the village , this has been busy dismantling this side of the volcanic cone , taking with him along with minerals , some of the galleries of the magazine that crossed this slope and producing in turn furturo that this hill is uncertain.
CACHE
Once the environment is enjoyed when exchanging objects. To complete this cache you must find a plastic micro to help you find the final cache. This cache is located inside the magazine, so that will need to be equipped with flashlights or other luminaries objects.
This has a logbook, pen and magnet as interchangeable objects, and multiple interchangeable objects.
