November 21 by Old Salty Dog (413 found) Great little walk to get this cache. Roots and trail were marked; have to wonder if this trail was marked up for a cross-country event or something? Smoke789 and I enjoyed this one very much.

[view this log] | October 25 by WVStumpJumpers (8 found) Our second cache of the day at Canaan State Park. We live closeby and had actually walked this particular trail before on a Girl Scout outing. That was a few years ago, however, before we discovered the joys of geocaching! Beautiful day, saw some ducks on the river and of course, lots of deer. Our GPS was a little off on this one - the GPS said the cache was about 25 feet away from the actual ammo box. Don't know if it was the GPS or the coordinates - suspect it was my GPS. The clues helped us find it quite easily though.Took a horse figurine, left a tin robot. TFTC

| October 11 by oldfogey (22 found) Quite a hike for an 'oldfogey'! The lesson learned is "Read the instructions (twice if necessary)!!!" I got to the trail split and the trail went off to the NW but my GPSr insisted it was not far to the south (500 ft). So being the hard headed so and so I am, off to the south I went. Straight up the hill. And up. And up. I was dogging by the time I got to the cache. I will advise again - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! Not wanting to go down, the way I came up, I used the coordinates in the INSTRUCTIONS to get back on the trail and then followed the trail back to the trail head. My GPSr was right, it was much longer that way, but there was little chance of slipping and sliding down the hill (that you didn't need to be on anyway!)TFTC it was a lot of fun! Took: SeeBee Couple's tracking coin to take back to central Va. Left: Alien man Oldfogey "Getting Better with Age"
[view this log] | October 8 by SeabeeCouple (66 found) Very easy walk down to the Blackwater River. We walked all the way around on this trail. Took spin top, left USA coin. TFTC
