Geocache Description:

This is the ultimate cache & dash!

The cache site isn't too exciting but it's a good base for a great day out, or a quick dash-in, dash-out if you're in a hurry.

This cache can be found in the beautiful, historic village of Tutbury near to the Derbyshire / Staffordshire border.

The cache co-ordinates are a car park and this is a great base for a really lovely stroll around the village; take a walk to Tutbury Castle just up the road from the cache site and finish off with lunch at the 17th century Dog and Partridge Public House on the High Street.

The cache is a magnetic nano cache - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BRING A PEN.

This is a heavy muggle zone - please beware!

There is a recycling point nearby for glass, cans and paper - bring your recycling with you and keep Tutbury clean and tidy.

There are some beautiful listed buildings surrounding the cache site. As you face the cache site:-
> the building to your left has had many incarnations but was once the old school house.
> the residential buidling behind you is a Grade II listed building which dates back to the late 1600s/early 1700s and was once the local funeral parlour
> to your right is the old police station - you can still see the police lantern outside
> over in front of you is the back of the High Street - most of the buildings on the High Street are listed and have some significance to the history of the village

If you take a walk round the corner to the High Street you'll find one of the old red telephone boxes - this is a Grade II listed building, listed in 1991!

The DaRePaBe cachers live in one of the houses overlooking the cache site - we have a great view of the hiding place and can see all our fellow cache-finders coming and going. So don't forget to wave when you come - we'll be watching :-)
