this cache is located on the beautiful Emerald Lake. bring some water with you it is about a 2.75 mile hike round trip. The campground is closed in the winter so you have to ski/snowshoe/hike in.. please mark your parking spot in case you get lost. NOTICE a Geo cache notification form has been submitted to Sonja Margitan at the Woodruff dnr station so that this geocache could be placed on state land.

because of the recent logging the directions have changed.

take the little john jr. lake road to the firefly boat landing. here you can park. backtrack and take the road on the right.( at the v). follow the road and take the road on the left ( logging road ). follow it to the gate. go under the gate and follow the trail to the second trail on the right.
