Lost Key to Heaven
The old Kyak-Pai Church locates in the Sanmin village of Fushing township. It is the only church built by stone in the county. It was built up in 1963, when the traffic was tough and building material is difficult to get at that time. The local aborigines picked up stone in the neighborhood and built the church, which makes its most unique appearance. It had been the religion center of the Atayal people. Till a new church was constructed, the stone church is left idle, though it remains its special meaning in the minds of Atayal habitants. The entrance of the church was design by the concept of "the key to heaven". To ensure the rigidity of the building structure, the arc architecture was constructed by fine workmanship and makes the appearance of the church more native.
