Geocache Description:

This is a Cinco de Mayo Event and all geocachers are welcome. There will be some fun and lots of food so come and join us on Tuesday May 5th 2015.

First, a little educational stuff. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration held on the 5th of May in the United States and in Mexico. In Puebla, Mexico it is know as El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (The Day of the Battle of Puebla). Mexican Americans celebrate this day to honor their ethnicity. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is generally mistaken to be Mexico's Independence Day but that is on September 16th later this year.

Second, I recently went geocaching in the pouring rain trying for some FTFs. It was hard to sign the logs with wet hands as I was hunched over trying to protect this tiny piece of 'Paper' with my body. It was even harder to see though the rain drops running into my eyes and then down my cheeks. All the while I am thinking, "Boy I wish I had a sombrero and a poncho!" I chuckle even now thinking back on that moment but really what "TOTT" can help more in the wind and rain than a sombrero and a poncho?

Third, at this event we are going to have a contest for the best Geocaching Themed Sombrero! Yes, I have had "Hat" Contests before but I do like to mix it up a bit. There will be an Award for each of the top Three Winners with the most Votes.

* No categories because I want you to be able to use your creativity to the fullest.

** Requirements: Must be Hand-made, Wearable, Geocaching Themed and have a Minimum 'Brim' Diameter of 24 inches.
