Haugerudbekken is my 2. contribution to the PPJ-theme:
Waterways of Oslo - creeks and rivers
I considered calling this cache 'A childhood creek', since I
grew up at Haugerud, in the edge of Østmarka close to where this
creek starts. The fact is that I can't remember anything about this
creek from way back then. I just recently discovered it was one of
the rivers feeding Alna, while reading about it. I have found the
origin of the creek near AG#41 Another childhood memory, and that
it travels near the track I used to enter Østmarka as a child. It's
not found written much info about it, neither in Marka-books, nor
Internett.

This cache is placed in the small patch of forest between
Smalvollveien og Tveita/Haugerud. Usually people are only driving
past it on all sides, and I don't think many have had a stroll in
this small area. The river smell somewhat though, and while walking
towards the cache site, you will (unfortunatly) see the ugly
industrial and motorway area at Alnabru. But you should also enjoy
these small forest areas scattered around, which were kept green
during the heavy suburban contructions between 1960-70.
The creek dances down the hill and crawls around the large
building which today house SmartClub. Previously it housed Ringnes
and its soda production and distribution - hence the name
.
It curves around the building, and is led in pipes to the forest
area Smalvollen where it joins Alna.
The micro cache is a small cylinder, containing a combined micro
stashnote and log, tiny pencil and some small trading items. Make
sure you cover it up again with some small branches and leaves so
it's not visable.
