Geocache Description:

This is one of the picnic caches for the Vasona Park picnic. We decided to make it permanent, based on our guests' feedback.

Dryad is a forest sprite. You'll find this cache in the forest. Watch for some poison oak that is nearby. Cachers in sandals had no trouble reaching the cache on picnic day. Children helped place the cache, and they did not get into the poison oak either. Just choose your path carefully.

Initial contents included:

Geocaching letter in English and Spanish
Logbook, pen and pencil
Scratch and draw toy
4 Matchbox vehicles
Duckie Fabric
Cool caps bicycle valve stem covers
Colored Chalk
Trivia Playing Cards
Star Wars Puzzle
Colored Pencils
Make Your Own Bike License Plate
Camera – please take your photo and note how many pictures are left

If you are taking children with you, you might want to also visit the park next to Vasona: Oak Meadow Park. The train depot is there, and you can take the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad into Vasona Park and back. There is also a carousel at Oak Meadow Park. Our kids also enjoyed the big play structure at Vasona Park.

Dogs are welcome on a leash. There are several places to get water for your dog, but you'll need to bring a container. I don't recommend letting dogs drink out of the lake if you can avoid it.
