Arrgh Matey! The booty to be plundered is at Leecher Mtn. Lookout. After a gradual uphill 1.2 mile journey on foot to an altitude 5,013 feet, you will have a majestic view to behold.
Lock and Lock with booty inside!
There be two ways to approach this booty.
One way is to go by way of Highway 20 to South Summit across from the Loup Loup Ski Bowl. Drive on NFS 41 (paved) to the end of the road (about 16 miles). Turn right and drive on this dirt road and turn left onto NFS 100. Drive on until you reach a gate and park at N 48'14.134 and W 119'59.420 (elevation 4400 feet).
The other is to approach from Brewster and drive up on Paradise Road and again turn left on #100. This might be the shorter approach. Oh, and there's a really nice outhouse up there - next guest should bring a roll of TP.
Plunder On! The original lookout was a Sears Windmill Tower with a 6' x 6' cab bulit in 1921. It had ground living quarters. In 1941 an 11' timber tower was built. The present tower was brought from the Chiliwist in 1954.
