Cache is located in the Richter Community Forest Preserve, which is owned by the Door County Land Trust (DCLT). The DCLT has approved the placement of this cache. The trails are old logging roads without improvements.
The cache is located on Washington Island, and is accessable by ferry boat from Northport. From the Detroit Harbor Ferry dock ( 45 20.342 / 086 56.244) the trail head for the cache is 0.33 miles (45 20.541 / 086 56.542). The cache is 0.19 miles from the trailhead. The cache can be accessed by foot from the Ferry Landing on Washington Island. Included with the contents of the cache at placement is a travel bug ("The Mighty Oak").
