Geocache Description:

Have you ever noticed these two fellows in downtown Syracuse?

NOTE: This is a virtual geocache. There is no box to find, but you will learn about some important military events in American history. Keep your canteen full and your head down!

Here are the rules to log this virtual geocache as found. Please read them carefully.

1. Use your GPS to find the cache location. Then look for the answers to the questions below. Some of the answers can be found at the virtual cache site, and some you must find by doing a little research on the Web.

These are the four questions you must answer:

a) What is the name of this little known city park in Syracuse, New York?
b) What is the title of the World War I doughboy sculpture?
c) How many cartridge boxes does the doughboy have on his belt?
d) Looking at the Spanish American War soldier in the photo above, what is written on his shoulder pack?

2. Send your answers to all four cache questions to me through the geocaching.com emailer. Do NOT answer the questions in your log report. Let's keep them secret so others may enjoy this historical geocaching challenge. FYI, the plaques were removed from the monuments before this cache was created, so you won't need them to answer the questions.

3. Wait until you receive a reply confirming that your answers are correct before submitting a log report. Be patient. No exceptions will be allowed. Logs without confirmations will be deleted.

4. We all enjoy seeing photos of our fellow geocachers, so feel free to upload a photo of yourself at the cache site. Be careful to use closeup a shot that doesn't give away the location or the answers.

NOTE: Shuffling off to Buffalo anytime soon? If you like this kind of geocaching adventure, here's a link to the first one in the series. To visit the "Sons of Buffalo" virtual geocache click here.
