Geocache Description:

Quite accessable location, relatively easy terrain and find.

This cache was launched on September 1st 2007, to be part of an event – “The last gasp of summer”- organised by nobby nobbs. I planned it the previous Bank Holiday Monday – when everyone was having picnics on the Plain, playing the occasional game, but we were the only ones out walking!

It is also situated to encourage you to walk on to my other cache in this area, Triple Bog Challenge. It’s a lovely walk. The cache is placed according to the Forestry Commission guidelines.

The cache was placed under gorse bush. It appears to have been trodden on and needed replacing March 2018 - we took that opportunity to move slightly so it is now hanging within a gorse "tree". This will hopefully prevent it drifting away from set location, as it had a habit of doing previously. Also you should be able to retrieve without getting prickled.

April 2018 - apparently no longer hanging!

August 2018 - Back dangling and clue reinstated

April 2022 New cache, moved to a more assessible location.

There are plenty of car parks in the area, the nearest being about 1/3 mile from cache -Wilverley Pitt (N50 48.619 W001 38.223) then Wilverley Plain, which has toilets, as has Whitefield Moor.

Enjoy, then please return to the same place you found it.
