Just off the freeway, nice gravel road, good parking. If the gate is across the road, go ahead. Just close it behind you. Leave it how you found it.
Off the highway historical spot.
Oregon Trail travelers made their way from Alkali Springs (Sulphur Springs) to this spot. They were sick from drinking the water at Sulpher Springs, and welcomed the rest and the grass and water of Birch Creek and Snake River.
Area was first named "Riviere aux Bouleaux" (River with the Birches) by French-Canadian fur trappers. Travelers found Willows and not Birch trees.
Enjoy the area, and the Oregon Trail ruts. Look for deer or antelope on the hillsides.
Please hide it as well if not better than you found it.
Thanks!
