This is located near stumps and submerged logs on the river.
DO NOT try and cross the ice in the winter as this river doesn't freeze soild at anytimes. Very easy with a canoe or kayak.
You will need a canoe or a kayak to find this cache. Even though it is located on the beautiful Torch River it is in an area with some stumps and submerged logs.
Torch River is a main artery connecting Skegemog Lake and Elk Lake with Torch Lake. During the peak months this river is very busy with boat traffic. There are two nearby
locations where you can launch a boat. One is on Torch Lake where Torch River flows out of it. This is at N44 51.028 W085 19.691 and the other is the boat launch located on
Aarwood Trail at N44 50.564 W085 19.214 Both are well used boat launches.
If you don’t have a canoe or kayak, you can rent a kayak at N44 51.015 W085 19.635 This waterway has many great areas to explore. I have seen beaver, otter, bald eagles, deer, raccoon and many types of ducks up and down this river.
The cache itself is a small 2x4x4 black box that should be obvious to those who are looking for it. The contents need to be small.
To start with: six assorted types of keychains,
two Indian arrow heads,
one Sacagawea gold dollar,
a couple of signature cards,
a log book.
Enjoy the area.
