Geocache Description:

The cache can be located on Dunstable Downs which are host to the highest point in Bedfordshire and some amazing views over both Herts, Beds & Bucks. In July this place is also home to an annual kite flying festival.

At 244m high, Dunstable Downs are an impressive sight from miles around & the highest point in Eastern England. You will be greeted with parking facilities, a visitor Centre & a Kiosk selling Ice creams etc. There are many footpaths which can be taken to access this cache but I would suggest the one which runs slightly downhill & overlooks the airfield where you can watch gliders taking off. The area is a haven for wildlife & many species of butterflies are here to be seen.

The cache should be combined with trips to Leaves & Pews, Rural Decay, Virgin Mary & Beacon View - Round in circles as they are all in close proximity. This is the perfect oppertunity for a family day out or a picnic, enjoy the views, Dan & Pid.
